foreign policy The president's failure to secure an agreement and maintain 10-30k troops in Iraq has to be one of his signature failures.
immigration They should instead go at the back of the line and they should not be allowed to stay in this country and be given permanent residency or citizenship merely because they have come here illegally.
gun control We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts and I support them. I won't chip away at them, I believe they help protect us and provide us with safety.
civil rights States are able to make decisions with regards to domestic partnership benefits such as hospital visitation rights, benefits and so forth of various kinds can be determined state by state. My view is that marriage itself is a relationship between a man and a woman, and that's my own preference. I know that other people having differing views, this as a very tender and sensitive topic as are many social issues, but I have had the same view that I've had since running for office.
healthcare What I support is no change for current retirees and near-retirees to Medicare and the president supports taking $716 billion out of that program.
abortion I believe that because Roe V Wade has been the law for 20 years, that we should sustain and support it, and I sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice.
environment I indicated my view, I don't speak for the scientific community, of course, but I believe the world is getting warmer. I can't prove that, but I believe based off what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two I believe humans contribute to that. I don't know how much our contribution is to that because there have been periods of greater heat and warmth than the past, but I believe we contribute to that, and so I think it's important for us to reduce our emissions of polutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and the global warming that you're seeing.
economy That — that's why I'd have regulation. But I wouldn't designate five banks as too big to fail and give them a blank check. That's one of the unintended consequences of Dodd-Frank, it wasn't thought through properly.
tax reform Number two, I will not reduce the share paid by high income individuals. I know that you and your running mate keep saying that, and I know it's a popular thing to say with a lot of people, but it's just not the case.
education What's happening to education, it's failing us. Look at our scores, look what's happening to our kids. We have subsidized a behavior, in many respects, killing education and killing our ability to compete.
